So while I was setting up I discovered someone had left their bounce dryer sheets behind for me to throw out for them as well as a half full water bottle. Whatever I am used to Neanderthal heathens leaving their junk behind and leaving the weights strewn around like an apocalyptic, ambulatory, work out happened just before closing time the night before.
The Dryer sheet did remind me of an interesting hypothesis that a co-worker I had a few summers back totally sold me on. His hypothesis was:
Since the invention of Fabric Softener & dryer sheets (in 1960 by Scientist Conrad Gaiser) human beings have only gotten weaker and softer. Now he took things a little further by hanging his clothes to dry and hand washing them from time to time. But I have since stopped using dryer sheets, my mom has never used fabric softener, so is that why I am as stubborn and gritty as a Brahma bull at times? Or is it just because I am a Taurus?
Something definitely to ponder during a quiet moment of your day. Downfall of humanity because of Fabric softener and dryer sheets?
Sith Lords definitely don't use fabric softener on their robes. |
GHR 2 x 7
Chest Supported Rows 4 x 20 x 30 lbs
This is why I train so hard. This is my Soap. Swagger HAS to be earned! |
Narrow Grip Bench (Doubled Orange Mini)
(2RM)
1 x 50 x Bar
2 x 5 x Bar (trying to determine pin height)
1 x 4 x Bar +Band
1 x 2 x 95 +Band
1 x 2 x 135 +Band
1 x 2 x 145 +Band
1 x 2 x 155 +Band
1 x 2 x 165 +Band
1 x 2 x 175 +Band
1 x 1 x 185 +Band
I wanted a little more volume today so I opted to increase by 10lbs increments only. The 185 was supposed to be a double but I lost my tightness at the lock out of the first rep so I canned the set their. Fatigue was setting in. The Bands added about 30 lbs at the top. I like the bands as my Triceps seem to fire a little harder, my biggest problem benching (besides it sucking miserably) has been a sticking point at the 3/4 mark which I am forced to bust through. I am not reliant on the bands but it is easier than dragging chains in and it keeps things fresh.
Db Bench (rest 2min) 2 x 2 min (45+ reps) x 25 lbs
These are a great Pump, painful, and a mind fuck. Which helps keep me just a little more mentally tough.
Db Rows (rest 1min) (with straps)
3 x 10 x 110
These were controlled and strong reps. No swing and jerking. The right side I could almost hold at the top, I did get an excellent Lat Pump.
Tricep Pushdowns (Rope /1 min rest) 3 x 13 x 70 lbs
Straight weight machine, grinded these out with a little extra English just to keep things moving, but upper back was tight.
Rear Delt Rows (wide bar to chin /<1 min rest) 4 x 20 x 70 lbs
Ext Rotator Work (I-T-W-L) 2 x 15 x 2.5
Another long-ish session. I need to pick up the pace just a little bit, I should be able to get this stuff done closer to the 1 hr mark as opposed to the 1.5 to 2 hr time frame. Solid day happy with how the Bench is progressing. Everything feels healthy, solid and strong. Time to start to pushing the numbers up.
Keep Moving Forward, Keep Getting Strong(er) |
